Egiji Atigwe, Son of Ex-Enugu Deputy Speaker Implicated in Gun Supply to Kidnappers
Alleged Gun Supplier to Kidnappers Exposed: Egiji Atigwe, Son of Former Enugu Deputy Speaker, Named.
In a shocking revelation, Egiji Atigwe, son of former Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. David Atigwe, has been implicated as a gun supplier to kidnappers and armed robbers. This disturbing news comes after a suspect, identified as Emzor, confessed to security agents that Egiji provided guns, including a double-barrelled gun, to his gang.
The Confession
During a video interrogation, Emzor, who was arrested for his involvement in robbery and kidnapping activities in Igboeze North local government area and other parts of Nsukka zone, revealed that Egiji shared the proceeds of crime among gang members. When asked about the amount collected from one of their victims, Emzor stated, “I don’t know, but I was given N35,000 as my share. Egiji is the one who handles the money.”
Gang Members Named
Emzor also named other gang members, including Star Boy and Cobra. However, Egiji is now on the run, and efforts to reach the Enugu State Police Command for comments have been unsuccessful.
Allegations of Cover-Up
Sources suggest that Egiji’s family is attempting to scuttle the case, with the commissioner for finance, Mr. Urama, reportedly visiting the Enugu-Ezike divisional police to request a thorough investigation.
This development raises concerns about the involvement of high-profile individuals in criminal activities and the potential for corruption and cover-ups. The case is ongoing, and further investigations are necessary to uncover the truth.
