Father Killed, Daughter and Two Teenagers Kidnapped in Benue Gun Attack

Tragedy Strikes Benue: Gunmen Kill Farmer, Abduct Daughter and Two Teenagers.

In a horrific incident, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed Mr. John Ajaka, a farmer from Ogwule Ankpa village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State. The victim was brutally murdered while working on his farm. The attackers also abducted his daughter, Miss Owakoyi John, and two other teenagers from nearby farms.

The Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council, Hon. Melvin Ejeh, has condemned the attack, describing it as “callous, despicable, and wicked”. Ejeh assured the families of the victims that the perpetrators would be tracked down and brought to justice. He also condoled with the family of the deceased and promised the safe return of the abducted individuals.

 Security Measures in Place

Hon. Ejeh reassured the people of Ogwule and Agatu that the authorities are closing in on the criminal elements. He urged the community to remain calm and peaceful, assuring them that painstaking measures are being taken to address the lingering security issues.

The incident is the latest in a series of attacks in Benue State, which has been plagued by violence and kidnappings. The authorities have mobilized security agencies to pursue the perpetrators and ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals.

MOB JUSTICE TURNS DEADLY: Alleged Motorcycle Thief Crushed to Death in Abuja.

A suspected motorcycle thief met a grisly end yesterday while attempting to flee from an angry mob in Gawu, Abaji Area Council.

Eyewitness Account

Danlami Ibrahim, a witness, recounted the events leading to the tragic incident. “Around 4:12 pm on Wednesday, the suspect stole a motorcycle from a farm in Mawogi village. The owner raised an alarm, prompting youths to chase him.”

Fatal Accident

As the suspect approached Gawu village, he recklessly crossed the expressway and was struck by a vehicle. Despite being apprehended alive by the mob, vigilantes intervened, taking him to Gawu Babangida Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

Police Confirmation

A Gawu division police officer, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident. “The deceased’s relatives collected his body. We recovered the stolen motorcycle, which was damaged, and impounded the vehicle involved.”
