Police Raid Kidnappers’ Hideout in Enugu, Kill Two Suspects and Rescue Victim.
On Thursday, operatives from the Enugu State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping, Distress Response and Special Intervention Squads conducted a raid on a kidnappers’ hideout in Nokpa-Nike, Enugu East Local Government Area. The operation resulted in the neutralization of two suspected kidnappers and the rescue of a male victim.
 Details of the Operation
The police action was prompted by actionable intelligence gathered by the operatives. Upon arrival, the kidnappers opened fire, leading to a shootout that resulted in the death of two suspects. Others fled with gunshot injuries, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend them.

– Two AK-47 rifles
– Three magazines
– 125 rounds of live ammunition
 Investigation Reveals
Preliminary investigations indicate that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N40,000,000 for the release of the victim. The group is also linked to several kidnappings within Enugu metropolis and its environs.
 Government Action
The Enugu State government has destroyed the buildings used by the kidnappers for their criminal activities. Commissioner of Police Kanayo Uzuegbu commended the operatives’ efforts, reiterating the command’s commitment to eradicating violent crimes in the state.
